About Ice Blue Studio Glass

All of the hand blown glass produced at the Studio is made from high quality 24% lead crystal. Lynn and Dave enjoy welcoming people to their Studio where they can be seen glass blowing, and have a large range of glass art for sale in the Gallery. They can also give glass blowing demonstrations to suit requirements, please contact us for details. A full design service is also offered, to create a personal and unique piece of glass art as a gift or company award incorporating corporate colours and logos.

'Taking Wing'

Their public sited glass and metal sculpture entitled 'Taking Wing' was awarded the Makers Collaboration prize at the Red House Glass Cone, Stourbridge at the International Festival of Glass in August 2006.

'Taking Wing' represents the emergence of a hopeful future for glassmaking in the area, from a symbol of the old industrial past a bridge over a branch of the canal that has long since been filled in and built over, a canal that would have been used to transport raw materials needed for glassmaking to sites such as the Red House Cone. The birds fly in all directions from the centre, symbolising the spread of skills, knowledge and traditions from the area, throughout the world.
